Aged Care Guide

We understand that there are a lot of options for aged care and the importance of selecting the best level of care for you. As such, we have compiled the relevant information needed to make your choice and progress through the aged care maze. We also understand that your needs may change over time and are happy to help you review your selection at any time.

What services are available?

There is four main aged care services available:

  • Community Care
  • Home Care Packages
  • Independent Living (Retirement Village)
  • Residential Living (Hostel)

Which service suits me?

Your answer to the following questions will help determine the best service for you:

  1. Am I happy living at home? Am I lonely?
  2. Am I able to fully care for myself?
  3. Do I need some support with meals?
  4. Do I need support with cleaning?
  5. Do I wish to participate in some organised events?
  6. Am I capable of driving myself?

If you found that you are still able to live at home but need a little support, Community Care and Home Care Packages may be perfect for you.

If you are capable of living at home but looking for a little more security and a sense of community, retirement villages, and in particular, Cooee Retirement Village may be your best option. 

If you are having difficulties or struggling to maintain life at home, residential living at either Cooee Lodge Hostel or Jack Towney Hostel are great options.
